Hello fellow snowmobile enthusiasts. The recent weather should make us all very anxious for the snowmobile season to arrive. Last Friday morning as we crawled out of our cozy warm bed, we were surprised to look out the window and see a beautiful light blanket of snow on the ground. And then again on Saturday, we saw quarter-size snowflakes fall and cover the landscape. This was a gentle reminder by Mother Nature that it is time to get the outdoor furniture stored away, rake the leaves, and do all the other necessities to ready for winter. It is time to uncover your sled and make sure it is ready to go. And don’t forget to ensure your registration is up to date and you have your trail pass sticker affixed to the windshield.

Your snowmobile clubs, NLSC and Three Lakes Trails, have already been busy preparing for the upcoming season.  Perhaps you have read about the bridge repair that Three Lakes Trails completed. In addition to that work, they have started trail brushing and continuously perform routine maintenance of their equipment to ensure it is ready to go in 9 weeks when it could be time to ride!

This year, with the Covid precautions in place everywhere within the State of Wisconsin, fundraising activity as done in the past will not be possible. The opportunity to raise money at our live meetings (50/50 raffles) and the Christmas Party (our largest fundraiser) is lost. Money raised by sales of Groom to Ride Raffle tickets could be impacted simply by fewer customers in restaurants, bars and other businesses where the tickets are sold. Consequently, we are concerned our fundraising efforts will fall short this season. Our fundraising success is critical to provide funding to Three Lakes Trails for their grooming operations.

A significant portion of our income comes from memberships. If you have not renewed your membership to date, we encourage you to do so soon to ensure you have the required trail pass from the AWSC when it is to time to ride. When you do renew, please consider if possible, adding on a donation with your membership fee. All your donations go to Three Lakes Trails. We are blessed as a club to have many amazing members who have already donated money as an add-on to their membership enrollment. With gratitude, we thank you very much for your generosity.

We encourage when you visit a NLSC supported business where Groom to Ride Raffle tickets are sold, take a chance and purchase some. You may be one of the lucky winners and you will be helping to fund grooming operations that keep our trails in beautiful riding condition.  All money raised from ticket sales sold at these businesses goes to Three Lakes Trails.

With hopes that the Covid-19 is under control as 2021 rolls in, we hope to see you at our Chili Dump and Weenie Roast fundraisers and on the trails. Please refer to our calendar of events. Please participate in all our activities and help us help Three Lakes Trails maintain the Three Lakes area as a premier snowmobiling destination for snowmobiling enthusiasts everywhere.
